Superglass Insulation Ltd is one of the leading UK producers of glass fibre insulation. It manufactures glass wool used in lofts and cavity walls. Demand has increased in recent years for its products as a result of Government and EC initiatives, partly influenced by commitments arising from the Kyoto Agreement, to provide better insulation in existing houses, higher standards of insulation for new houses and improvements in insulation standards across a whole range of commerical and industrial buildings.
In March 2005, we offered RSA of £800,000 plus up to £50,000 New Deal Premium towards the £5.5m costs involved in expanding its manufacturing facility in Stirling. The project is expected to create 20 new posts, including 10 under the New Deal scheme, as well as safeguarding a further 58 jobs. The project is progressing and the company has created 15 new jobs.
