Scottish Business Grants

G A Engineering (Scotland) Ltd

"The RSA grant has made the whole project possible. We have used the funds to purchase new premises and state of the art machinery. With this in place, we are in the process of increasing our customer base, turnover and profit". Gordon Deuchars, MD.

G A Engineering was established in 1992 as a sole trader and became a limited company in 1997. The Dundee based company has invested heavily in high speed CNC lathes and machining centres to offer customers the highest quality and service available. Key activities include contract manufacture and design to a range of clients predominantly in the oil, gas and agricultural sector, as well as providing specialist services such as prototype development.

In March 2002, we made a £100k RSA offer to GA to help it expand its core business, including buying larger premises. Capital investment of £555k was expected to safeguard the jobs of 4 of its existing 12 employees and create a further 12 new jobs.

The project is now well underway, the company having completed the capital investment and begun to create new jobs, and £80k in grant has been paid to date.
