Scottish Business Grants

    SIDAB

SIDAB provides independent advice to the Scottish Government on RSA grants of more than £250,000.

It is an advisory Non-Departmental Public Body consisting of a Chair and 11 Members (all currently unpaid), appointed by Ministers, and it meets each month. SIDABs advice makes a distinct contribution to the assessment of RSA applications by drawing on its Members' industrial and commercial experience.

During the year to 31 March 2007, SIDAB met on 11 occasions. The Board considered a total of 55 cases and recommended that RSA of £110.8 million be offered. These offers were associated with planned capital investment of £476.1 million and the forecast creation and safeguarding of 12, 700 jobs.

As a Public Authority listed within Part 7 of Schedule 1 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, SIDAB has agreed a publication scheme with the Scottish Information Commissioner which sets out the information which it will make publicly available as a matter of course. The publication scheme itself and, where appropriate, the classes of information set out within the scheme can be accessed via the links below:
