Shell Shared Service Centre - Glasgow Ltd
Shell Shared Service Centre - Glasgow Ltd employs around 500 staff and provides an accountancy shared service centre to Shell's businesses worldwide. In recent years, the Glasgow operation has expanded considerably with the help of RSA, delivered under our scope for Aid for Job Creation.
Most recently, we offered assistance of £1.3 million in August 2007 in respect of a project to create almost 150 jobs in Glasgow, having previously been offered a total of £1.25 million against projects creating a further 150 posts in earlier years. The company was competing against a number of other group overseas operations, specifically in other centres in Poland, Guatemala and the Philippines. Our offer of assistance should secure the project, which will mainly employ qualified accountants, within Glasgow's expanding financial services sector.
